The Great Dane is known for its large size and gentle personality. The breed is commonly referred to as the "Gentle Giant".  Danes will stand 28.5 to 31.5 inches at the shoulders, and weigh 110 lbs or more.  Coat colors on Danes are:  fawn, brindle, blue, black, harlequin, and mantle.  Danes are affectionate, calm, loyal, and intelligent.  They do not bark much, but make great watch dogs.  They do require a great deal of exercise.  Great Danes do well with children, other dogs, and other household pets.
